American-Iranian illustrator Ali Sabet is releasing a new limited, open-edition NFT to support victims of the war in Ukraine.
Dubbed the ‘Freedom Flowers 2022 Sabet’, the art piece will sell for 0.08 ETH ($227). It is a distorted female portrait featuring his own contemporary style and design.
The blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag are integrated masterfully into his iconic bright colors.
Sabet was himself born in war, before being lucky enough to come to America. He said that “he can relate deeply to the pain and suffering that is happening in the country (Ukraine).”
Proceeds from the auction will go to a reputable non-profit organization involved in providing relieve to the people of Ukraine.
Just a few hours after the auction went live, 18 pieces had been sold. The auction will go on for the next 32 days, on this website.
Sabet is not the first artist to use NFTs to raise money for Ukraine. NFT influencer and collector Zeneca raised and donated 11.11 ETH, in partnership with ZenAcademy and The 333 Club.
The country of Ukraine itself has also launched a fund raising drive, seeking crypto donations from their millions of social media followers.
