Comedy duo Cheech & Chong are the latest celebrities to join The Sandbox.
The famous duo have signed an exclusive deal with The Sandbox metaverse, joining another famous stoner – Snoop Dogg.
The comedians, art enthusiasts and cultural icons will offer an exclusive experience dubbed ‘My Homies by Cheech & Chong’.
Appearing as NFTs in The Sandbox will be their iconic vehicles, psychedelic props, looks, and their voxelized cannabis. All this will be found in a dedicated Cheech & Chong LAND for visitors to experience.
I’m deeply involved with the art community and believed early on that the metaverse would expand on how people interact with brands they love by contributing their own creations.
The possibilities of what can be created virtually are endless and we’re very much looking forward to the trips we’ll be taking with our fans to our own dedicated LAND in The Sandbox.

The Sandbox co-founder and COO Sebastien Borget said that the duo have always had an appreciation for art and counterculture, and have found a different way to express it.
He welcomed them to the metaverse, and said he is looking forward to see what they’ll do with the space.
Art is about connecting with others and reaching deeper parts of self. The metaverse is a new medium for people to create and connect with each other, but in ways they never thought imaginable. Our partnership with The Sandbox will introduce our community to a whole new world, together.

Cheech & Chong found success in the 70s and 80s through their stand-up routines and feature films.
This was the “hippie” era, and they capitalized on that – their very public love for cannabis certainly helped.
This year, they launched a collectible project titled “My Homies” with the mission of “Community, Art, Legacy and Mindfulness.”
