Rabbids Coming To The Sandbox After Ubisoft Partnership

Ubisoft The Sandbox

Despite opposition from some fans, Ubisoft is pushing ahead with its metaverse plans. The French Video game company is embracing the concept, even as major rivals like EA Sports and Konami backtrack after fan backlash.

On Tuesday, The Sandbox metaverse announced that they had teamed up with Ubisoft to bring Rabbids game to their metaverse. Rabbids is a popular game series launched by the game developer in 2006.

Ubisoft is already developing its LAND in The Sandbox, where it plans to offer users interactive experiences with the Rabbids characters as a start, and other popular characters from other games in future.

These characters will also be made available to those using The Sandbox’s Game Maker tools, which means developers can make their own metaverse games with them.

“We’re excited to bring the Rabbids to The Sandbox community and to empower players to create their own original experiences incorporating elements of our gaming IP.

We can’t wait to see how they make the Rabbids’ world their own. The Sandbox is an obvious new fun playground addition to the long list of Rabbids world invasions, and a great opportunity for Ubisoft to experiment a metaverse experience for its brands.”

In recent weeks, The Sandbox has been making big signings for its metaverse. Last month, they announced a deal with Warner Music to build a musical theme park in their metaverse.
