Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is one of the first high profile Twitter users to take advantage of the newly introduced NFT profile pictures.
Last week, Twitter introduced a new feature where ‘Twitter Blue’ users can connect to their crypto wallets and change their profile pictures to an NFT. The image displays as a hexagonal shape, differentiating it from the circular image normal profile pictures are displayed in.
On Thursday, the Academy Award winner made the switch from a normal picture to a brown, blindfolded ‘Bored Ape‘ NFT.
Gwyneth also tweeted a short clip of the same NFT, announcing to the world that she had joined BAYC. She thanked MoonPay concierge, a service introduced by the company to help celebrities and wealthy individuals make NFT purchases.
The launch of this feature received mixed reactions from Twitter users. Elon Musk famously referred to it as ‘annoying bs’.
