Faster Speeds on Decentraland as Windows Client Launched

Decentraland

Decentraland metaverse is now accessible to millions through the newly released beta Windows desktop client.

By adding the client’s option, players will now experience faster processing speeds, improved stability and cleaner graphics among other perks.

It is one of the features that fans have been asking for, and promises to offer a more immersive feeling than a web browser.

However, the client is only available in beta version for now.

What is Decentraland?

Decentraland is one of the largest metaverses. It is a 3D virtual world browser-based platform where players can buy virtual plots of land as NFTs via the $MANA token.

Players can develop the land by using the Decentraland’s own editor, or importing 3D models from external software.

Cosmetic gears like t-shirts and hats are some items that can be traded.

Decentraland was the first Metaverse project featuring NFT land ownership, wearables, names and avatars.

When it launched in 2017, parcels of digital land sold for about $20 and $MANA tokens sold for $0.02.

The game’s first map, Genesis City, was made up of 90,601 parcels of land.

In 2017, it raised $26 million in its initial coin offering (ICO).

In April 2021, during a surge in popularity for NFTs, parcels sold for between $6,000 and $100,000.
