A Chinese influencer has found incredible success selling photos of herself as NFTs.

Yuqing Irene Zhao, a 28 year old crypto influencer, created a collection based on a sticker pack she made for her Telegram community, and launched it on the NFT marketplace OpenSea.

The collection features 1,106 NFT images of the Singapore-based influencer, posing next to different crypto slang.

As of this writing, the NFTs are trading at a floor price of 0.68ETH and have over 500 owners.

Irene was encouraged to turn her sticker pack into an NFT collection by a fan, who learnt of the success of Indonesian college student Sultan Gustaf Al Ghozali, who made over $1 million selling NFTs of his selfies he took over a 4 year period.

She created this collection in collaboration with libevm and business partner Benjamin Tang. It is part of their plan to create a decentralized platform called ‘Social Collectibles’ (So-Col); basically a decentralized OnlyFans but for NFTs.

“We at So-Col thought it was a great idea as we wanted to create a prototype for our core concept of a community-driven creator economy. We then extended the idea into a DAO, and libevm and my co-founder Ben hacked it together within a day,” she was quoted as saying.

“What we didn’t expect was that our test case was an instant hit. In fact, I was not even aware when it was launched — I was out for a swimming lesson! By the time I came back from the pool after 40 minutes, the entire 500 NFTs were gone. I didn’t even have one to myself!”

YouTuber Logan Paul was one of the high profile buyers of an IrenDao NFT.
